Skin Cancer Removal

Even though the dangers of sun exposure are now widely known, skin cancer is still on the rise. Here on the Gulf Coast is no exception. Fortunately, with early detection and advanced technologies, we have been able to perform skin cancer removal surgery with a very high rate of success.

 

The removal of skin cancer is generally achieved through surgical excision. A specialized technique, known as Mohs micrographic surgery, allows for total skin cancer removal in 97 to 99 percent of cases, with minimal damage to surrounding tissue.

The Moh's Procedure for skin cancer removal is performed in conjunction with a dermatologist. Standard skin cancer excision is performed in the office or an outpatient setting.
